Lipsync Post views Britain From Above
July 30, 2008 09:49Lipsync Post has created branding and titles for Britain From Above, a landmark series of programmes produced by Lion TV, which will be aired across the BBC1, BBC2, BBC4 and web platforms.
Hosted by Andrew Marr, each programmer highlights a different aspect of Britain's nature and society seen from above; transport, architecture and farming are amongst the subjects spectacularly filmed from the air.
The creative team of Howard Watkins, Julia Hall and Peter Dickinson used the 'O' in 'ABOVE' which resolves into a lens, representing the programme's focus on the subjects, and highlighting the abstract shapes revealed by looking down on British landscapes. Originally a title sequence, the design was so well received that it is also being used to brand the book, the website and all promotional material.
Lucy van Beek, se4ries producer, Lion TV, said, "LipSync's pitch was original and elegant and they really worked hard to understand what it was that we were trying to achieve with the series. Their concept of seeing Britain from above through a lens worked particularly well, and the lens design then became the main branding tool for the whole multi-platform project. We had a punishing schedule and LipSync were flexible and came up with creative solutions that added to the original concept. They were just great to work with and no doubt we'll do so again!"
