LipSync Post has announced a £1m expansion of its visual effects, graphics and Digital Grading departments.Source: UK Screen Association News The facility has acquired an additional 3000 square feet of floor space above it's Wardour Street facility to house its visual effects and graphics team, which has been bolstered by the recruitment of former MPC senior VFX team-member Sheila Gorman, who joins to become Head of 2D. Also joining are Michael Bartlett, formally of CFC Framestore as Junior Compositor and Jonathan Wood, who joins as CG Artist from Blackpool-based Realtime UK. The £400k expansion, which includes a significant investment in infrastructure hardware, fileservers and disc space, follows Stefan Drury's defection from MPC in January to become head of Film Effects for LipSync and will also see the facility offer increased cutting room facilities to its clients within the new office space. The department will boast an additional five new work stations running Shake and increases its number of operator seats to twenty two, with a further fifteen planned within the next six months and will continue to be overseen by LipSync Creative Director, Howard Watkins. LipSync has also completed visual effects on Paul Greengrass's 9/11 feature, United 93 for Working Title. The twenty shots included greenscreen-keying, digital matte painting compositing and various set repair work. |
