Adapted by Ian McEwan from his bestselling novel, ON CHESIL BEACH focuses on a young couple with drastically different backgrounds in the summer of 1962. Following Florence (Saoirse Ronan) and Edward (Billy Howle) on their idyllic honeymoon, the drama explores the societal pressure of physical intimacy and the complexity of human relationships.

ON CHESIL BEACH is director Dominic Cooke’s first feature and he wanted the film to be as true to Ian McEwan’s detailed descriptions and colourful imagery as possible. Working closely with Cooke, LipSync did the conform, VFX, sound and titles for the film, released Friday 18th May.

Using AMS Neve DFC Gemini console, the LipSync sound team built layers of intense detail around the complex and often confusing relationship between Florence and Edward. The music’s repetition and consistency throughout highlights the impact of the honeymoon night for the rest of Florence and Edward’s lives.
